Entry Requirements Bachelor Degree

 

 

All international students must have completed at least 12 years of previous education and obtained a Higher Secondary School certificate equivalent to 'A' Level. Please check the equivalence table here to know if your qualification is enough to be accepted.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS (New students)

 

 

This refers to a student who has never obtained a student visa from any university in Malaysia, whether he/she is still in Malaysia or in the country of origin. Latest entry requirement should be taken into account in processing the application. If he/she enters Malaysia with a Visit Visa, he/she will be required to return to home country upon approval of student visa.

 

  1. Academic certificates :

- 'O' Level Certificate or equivalent to apply for Foundation/Diploma programs

- 'A' Level Certificate or equivalent to apply for Bachelor Degree programs

- Transcript of Records / result slip of every semester. (Note: If the academic records are in a language other than English, an approved translated version must be provided)

All certificates must be attested by the Malaysian Embassy/Consulate in your country of residence/your country embassy in Malaysia (for candidates that are already in Malaysia).

 

  1. Copy of Passport (all pages, including cover page and blank pages). The passport validity must be more than 2 years from the application date
  2. Passport size colored picture with blue background in jpeg format - please refer to the EMGS requirements;
  3. Valid IELTS or TOEFL Certificate: Please check the Language Entry Requirement under the related section at the previous point of this menu. Candidates that fulfill the academic qualifications but don't have the required English proficiency certification will be required to sit for the English Placement Test (EPT). If they do not pass the EPT, they will be required to enroll in an English Preparatory Program (EPP) at the UniKL appointed Language Centre before starting the academic program they applied for
  4. No Objection Certificate (NOC) only applicable for Sub Sahara Countries and Eligibility letter for Nigerian students. For applicants from Sudan, the university will request the NOC letter on behalf of the applicant; this is not applicable to applicant comes from South Sudan. Candidates are requested to provide the copy AND the original NOC letter during the application phase. The original NOC letter/Elgiibility letter should be sent to:

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS (Transfer students)

 

 

This refers to a student who is still holding a student visa from any university in Malaysia, whether graduated or still studying at the university. If the student is still studying, previous entry requirement should be taken into account in processing the application. Please find below the required documents:

 

  1. Academic certificates :

- 'A' Level Certificate or equivalent to apply for Bachelor Degree programs

At this stage you are not requested to send the original documents by regular post. However, please note that In case you will be admitted to UniKL you will be required to provide original copies of all the required applications documents in order to be registered as UniKL student. Admission process

 

 

STEP 1: Offer Letter

After having verified that your eligibility checking your complete application, UniKL will issue the Offer Letter:

In order to accept the offer candidates are required to:

1. Send us the Acceptance Form (provided along with the offer letter)

2. Pay the Immigration Processing Fees, as specified in the invoice attached to the offer letter

3. Send the forms attached to the International Students Guidelines (Student Biodata, Financial Certification, Certification from Parents/Guardian) duly filled in

 

STEP 2: Visa Approval Letter (VAL)

When you accept the offer and pay the immigration processing fees, UniKL International Office will apply for the Visa Approval Letter (VAL) to the Immigration Department of Malaysia.

The VAL processing will take approximately 4 weeks. Students can check their own VAL application status at http://educationmalaysia.gov.my/index.php/emgs/application/searchForm/

As soon as the VAL is approved you will be notified accordingly and you will be required to pay for the registration fees and 1st year tuition fees within 1 week from the notification. The original VAL will be then sent you by courier to allow you to apply for single entry visa. Please refer to the International Students Guidelines for the list of countries that don't require you to get the single entry visa/ Malaysian embassy stamp before entering Malaysia.

 

Students are required to arrive in Malaysia max 10 days before the scheduled registration day.

Pre-arrival procedure

 

 

AIRPORT PICK UP SERVICE

All international students are required to be picked up at the airport by a UniKL representative in order to be allowed to enter Malaysia. UniKL offers a free Airport pick up service to all international students. that are required to provide UniKL Visa Office with the Airport Pick up Form duly filled inat least 1 week before departure. No pick up service will be guaranteed to students that will not comply with this requirement. Priority for airport pickup is for registered students. Accompanying persons need to arrange for their own transportation.

Students are advised to bring along the original passport with at least 2 year validity and the Original Visa Approval Letter, Valid Entry Visa and the Offer Letter. Student will be required to complete the Malaysia Disembarkation Card which will be distributed by the airline crew or at the airport.

Students also are advised to carry about RM1000 - RM1500 in cash for early expenses in Malaysia.



Please be reminded that UniKL will not be held responsible for any consequences if the above instructions are not complied with.

Post-Arrival procedure

 

 

Medical Check up

All students must undergo for the Medical Health Report/Check up at the panel clinic within 7 days upon arrival in Malaysia which will be determined by the Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS). The report will be released within 3-4 days and the students must be in good health. If the students are not in good health and have been advised by the doctor not to register, they will be required to return to home country immediately.

 


Report to UniKL International Student Service

The student must report to the UniKL International Student Service, located at the 3rd floor, and will be given the following form :

2. Medical Health Report Form


Students need to submit the passport and Student VISA Processing Fee (if any) according to the schedule given them. Students may refer to the notice board at the 3rd floor, UniKL , Kuala Lumpur for collection of their passports.

WARNING:

· Students MUST submit their passport for Student Pass extension / renewal two (2) months before their Student Pass expires. Failure to do so will incur a penalty of RM300.00 per case.

· Students are responsible to ensure that their Student Pass and Entry Visa are VALID before leaving the country.


Campus registration

After the registration at the Campus, all students must attend the Induction & Orientation Program at the respective campus.
